Electrical System

I'm trying to preserve the original wiring as much as possible. This is going to prove difficult, as there are a lot of wires in the GTS harness.

The first step was to strip the wires, tracing and cutting away the wires that weren't needed from their origins in the fuse, connector and switch blocks. Here's how things looked part way through the excersize:

The location of the major components must be decided. The instrument cluster position has already been established, as has the connectors in the steering column. I'm planning to put the ECU inside the scuttle firewall on the passenger side. The main fuse box will be connected between the pedal box and outside of the scuttle.

Remaining to position is a connector block, a switching/routing block, and the fuse box that was inside the car. I'm hoping to drop all three, this depend on how much wire I can remove. The next job is to trace the wires from the ECU, marking the wires that must be kept, removing the rest.

Next will come deciding the route the wires will take, and finally trimming them to size.
